Selamat Hari Raya IMLEK

Happy Lunar year! Chuc mung nam moi

Xin Nian Hao! Konghei Fat Choi!

Kita masih ingat nama-nama pejuang nasional lainnya yang sudah tiada, seperti Lim Koen Hian (pendiri Partai Tionghoa Indonesia, PTI, 1932)Tan Po Goan (mantan Menteri RI) ;Tan Ling Djie, mantan anggota DPR; Tjoa Sek In , Ong Eng Die (mantan Menteri Keuangan RI), Oei Tjoe Tat (mantan Menteri Negara).

"Best Tall Building" Awards

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), the world's leading authority on tall building design and construction, designated the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) the world's "Best Tall Building Overall" in 2008 at its annual awards ceremony in Chicago.

Selected from among four buildings designated "Best Tall Building" in their respective regions of the globe, the Shanghai World Financial Center was chosen as the overall winner for its revolutionary structural design and inspirational symbolism in a city emerging as a global capital.

At 101 stories, the Shanghai World Financial Center is the world's tallest building in "height to top of roof" and "highest occupied floor"; its visitors' square and observation deck is the highest publicly accessible built space in the world. Completed in August 2008, the building is a testament to flexibility, endurance, and the emerging realization that inspired tall building construction is integral to sustainable urban environments. SWFC was under construction for more than a decade and was structurally redesigned significantly during that time. Moreover, in a time before green construction in the tall building field was a mainstream issue, SWFC was engineered with an eye toward conserving materials and preventing waste. Already, it has become one of China's iconic structures.

Happy new year! xin nian kuai le! Selamat tahun baru!

May your hair, your teeth, your face-lift, your abs and your stocks not fall; and may your blood pressure, your triglycerides, your cholesterol, your white blood count and your mortgage interest not rise.

May you get a clean bill of health from your dentist, your cardiologist, your gastro-enterologist, your urologist, your proctologist, your podiatrist, your psychiatrist and your plumber.

May what you see in the mirror delight you, and what others see in you delight them. May someone love you enough to forgive your faults, be blind to your blemishes, and tell the world about your virtues.

May New Year's Eve find you seated around the table, together with your beloved family and cherished friends. May you find the food better, the environment quieter, the cost much cheaper, and the pleasure much more fulfilling than anything else you might ordinarily do that night.

May the telemarketers wait to make their sales calls until you finish dinner, may the commercials on TV not be louder than the program you have been watching, and may your check book and your budget balance - and include generous amounts for charity.

May you remember to say "I love you" at least once a day to your spouse, your child, your parent, your siblings; but not to your secretary, your nurse, your masseuse, your hairdresser or your tennis instructor.
